Jon Bon Jovi wrote an open letter in The Buffalo News on Sunday to the citizens of Buffalo, New York, explaining his interest in buying the Buffalo Bills of the National Football League.

He writes, "Our objective is simple: to carry on the legacy of [the late owner] Ralph Wilson and make the Bills successful in Buffalo." This comes after months of speculation that Jon and the Canadian investors he has teamed with in a bid to buy the franchise will move it to Toronto. Jon, who as a result of these rumors has become the most hated man in Buffalo, goes onto say, "We are committed to working with the state, city, county and business community to identify the best possible site in the Buffalo area for a new stadium and to then develop and implement a plan to finance and build a state-of-the-art NFL stadium for the loyal Bills fans."

The letter was published the day the Bills played their first exhibition game of the year in Canton, Ohio - The Hall of Fame Game against Jon's favorite team, the New York Giants. The Giants won last night and you can read more about BIG BLUE'S BIG WIN here.

Among the those also interested in buying the team is Donald Trump, the onetime owner of the New Jersey Generals of the now defunct United States Football League. Bon Jovi's previous football experience came as the owner of the Philadelphia Soul of the Arena Football League.
