The Jimi Hendrix estate will celebrate what would have been the guitar god's 70th birthday by giving his fans a gift. "Hendrix 70: Live at Woodstock" will screen at theaters worldwide on November 26, the day before Hendrix's birthday. It marks the first time his legendary performance from August 18, 1969 has been shown on the big screen, with a version assembled by "Woodstock" film director Michael Waldleigh from his original 16mm footage and digitally remastered 5.1 surroundsound by Hendrix's regular engineer Eddie Kramer. The film will be preceded by a documentary directed by Bob Smeaton ("The Beatles Anthology," "Band of Gypsys") featuring interviews with Kramer, Hendrix bandmates Billy Cox and Mitch Mitchell and Woodstock festival co-producer Michael Lang.
