With the Rolling Stones hanging around the New York area for its upcoming 50th anniversary shows, it makes sense the group would be rumored to be an addition for the upcoming 12-12-12 benefit concert for superstorm Sandy victims at Madison Square Garden. The show's organizers have acknowledged the Stones have been invited, but it's not certain if the group will be available. It performs December 8 atBarclaysCenterin Brooklyn and then December 13 and 15 performances at the Prudential Center in Newark,New Jersey; the Stones are apparently planning a dress rehearsal for the latter on either December 12 or 13 because the final show will be a pay-per-view broadcast. Stones guitarist Keith Richards did join frontman Mick Jagger on stage at the Concert For New York City in 2001, however, so there are hopes the group will participate in some way. The 12-12-12 benefit lineup already features Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band, the Who, Roger Waters, Billy Joel, Jon Bon Jovi and more.
