When you’re making a movie about the trials and tribulations of becoming a Rock and Roll band, one thing is important: You gotta have a killer soundtrack! That seemed to be the mentality of the creators of the upcoming film Not Fade Away, which may have proved to be an easy thing to accomplish considering one of them is, in fact, a rock star. The movie, which marks the feature film debut of the creator of The Sopranos, David Chase, is being produced by Steven Van Zandt, a fellow Sopranos alum and longtime guitarist for Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band. The story follows three friends from New Jersey in the pursuit of rock stardom set against a 1960s backdrop when some of the most iconic artists of all time began bursting onto the scene.

Not Fade Away, which stars John Magaro, Jack Huston, Will Brill, Bella Heathcote, Brad Garrett, Christopher McDonald and James Gandolfini, is set for limited release in select theaters on December 21st via Paramount Vantage films.
