With a new album, "Monster," out this year, Kiss is eyeing 2013 for its return to comic books.

Starting in March, IDW Publishing will issue a book dedicated to each of the group's characters -- Demon (Gene Simmons), Starchild (Paul Stanley), Spaceman (Tommy Thayer) and Catman (Eric Singer) -- and their own individual adventure. The books will be illustrated by Angel Medina, who handled the Kiss "Psycho Circus" series between 1997-2000.

Simmons -- whose Demon takes on the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse in his issue -- tells us that giving each band member its own comic pays homage to the strength of the group's current lineup: "Eric and Tommy are a delight...We used to joke around that Kiss was the Beatles on steroids; Actually, they are our template. Everybody's a star. Everybody sings, writes. Everybody is up there together."

Kiss and Motley Crue, who toured North America this year, will join forces to tour Australia starting February 28 and running through mid-March. Kiss has a European run lined up for the summer, as well as its Kiss Kruise in October. North American dates are expected in 2013 as well.
