Rolling Stones guitarist Ron Wood has married for a third time, wedding theater producer Sally Humphreys on Friday (December 21) at the Dorchester Hotel in London. Rod Stewart, Wood's mate from the days of the Jeff Beck Group and the Faces, served as best man, while Paul McCartney also attended the ceremony. Wood's fellow Stones were no-shows, however, since the event was a last-minute affair.
It's the third marriage for Wood, who was previously hitched to Krissy Findlay from 1971-78 and Jo Wood from 1985-2009; Wood, 65, and Humphreys, 34, met nine years ago when Wood's art was displayed at a theater where Humphreys was working. He proposed in October after the couple had been dating for about six months. At the time Humphreys -- who wore a dress that belonged to her mother -- said that "There's no problem with the age difference. I can understand why people would have a problem with it but it doesn't seem to cause any problems. We get on very well. He's very funny and very talented.
There's the Ronnie that everyone thinks that they know and the very talented artist and musician." Wood, who wore pink socks to his wedding, told reporters that he was "feeling great" but would not reveal where the couple will honeymoon. He also predicted that we haven't seen the last of the Stones, who played five special 50th anniversary shows, plus a couple of club rehearsals, during November and December: "I think of Howlin' Wolf plugging in to his kidney machine, however old he was, 80 or something, and still playing. You just rock till you drop."
