Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band, Roger Waters, Elton John and Paul McCartney were among the top global tours of 2012 according to the trade magazine Pollstar.

Springsteen and company ranked No. 2 overall, behind only Madonna, with nearly 2.3 million tickets sold and a gross of $210.2 million, while Waters' tour of Pink Floyd's "The Wall" ranked third, playing to nearly 1.7 million fans and taking in $186.4 million.

John ranked No. 9 with nearly 600,000 and $69.9 million, while McCartney -- with just 16 shows -- came in at No. 11 playing to almost 416,700 fans and taking in $56.9 million. Also appearing on the Pollstar Top 50 are Van Halen (No. 15), Leonard Cohen (No. 17), Scorpions (No. 38), Jimmy Buffett (No. 39) and Aerosmith (No. 44).

The Rolling Stones, meanwhile, ranked No. 33, taking in $35.5 million from its five 50th anniversary shows for an average of 11.8 million per concert.
