Paul McCartney has recorded a new, acoustic version of "Heart of the Country," a song from his 1971 album "Ram," for use as an animated online promotion for his late first wife Linda McCartney's frozen vegetarian food line.
The 40-second spot features a cartoon image of Linda cavorting with a variety of appreciative animals in the woods, playing accordion and presenting a veggie burger, while Paul performs the song accompanied by just acoustic guitar and accordion.
McCartney co-wrote "Heart of the Country" with Linda and released it as the B-side to the single "The Back Seat of My Car;" he also created a video for the song.
Last year's reissue "Ram -- Paul McCartney Archive Collection (Deluxe Edition)" is nominated for a pair of Grammy Awards -- Best Historical Album and Best Boxed or Special Limited Edition Package. The ceremony takes place February 10 in Los Angeles.

of Musical Knowledge which he used
to land a gig in Central New York. From
there it was no where but up.
He joined PYX 106 after a short stint on Broadway in Michael Jackson's "The WIZ". His meteoric rise to the top as Program Director came as a surprise to all in the industry. When asked his most memorable moment in radio, John replied, "my interview with the guy who lived next door to the guy who was the third cousin of the guy who whittled a pair of drumsticks for Pete Best."
