For the first time, longtime friends and fellow Detroit rock icons Bob Seger and Kid Rock will come together and perform at two special concerts.

Realizing that their current respective tour schedules could conveniently match up in Minnesota and North Dakota, the two musicians decided to take advantage of the opportunity and bring Seger’s Silver Bullet Band and Rock’s Twisted Brown Trucker Band along for the ride. The two concerts are expected to sell out quickly.

According the official press release, Seger and Rock have a past dating back to their first meeting in 2000. Four years later, Rock inducted Seger into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Both of them have also been featured in each other’s albums, including an appearance by Seger on Rock’s Born Free album and Rock pitching in for a duet on Seger’s Face The Promise album.

The planned March 15 and 16 shows will be in Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minn and Fargo, N.D. As the unorthodox pairing will blend old-school with new-school, traditional with hybrid, and Rock ‘n Roll’ tunes with gritty, shameless vocals, audiences of all sorts should in attendance.
