The New Year brings some new music to look forward to and 2013 is an unprecedented one.  Black Sabbath is putting forth a new album with ‘The Ironman’ Ozzy Osbourne front and center for the first time since 1978’s ‘Never Say Die.’

Bassist Geezer Butler spoke about the upcoming LP with the Southern California radio station KCAL (via Blabbermouth).  Butler says the new album is about getting back to the basics of the beginning Sabbath works.

“It’s sort of got the feel of the first three albums – back to the basic rawness,” Butler said.

There is a difference for the members this time around though – the recording process consisted of all members who are completely sober.  “It’s been more professional in that way,” Butler said.  “We stuck to a schedule every day.”

Black Sabbath’s tentatively titled ‘13’ album is expected in June.
