The Eagles are set to fly back into the spotlight on March 19 with the release of their latest box set, The Studio Albums 1972-1979.
Contained within this compilation masterpiece are the band's first six iconic LPs: Eagles (1972), Desperado (1973), On the Border (1974), One of These Nights (1975), Hotel California (1976) and The Long Run (1979), according to The Second Disc.
Redefining the rock genre, the Eagles released three #1 albums, and popularized country rock of southern California. Of course, true Eagles fans already knew this.
A little unknown rumor circulating around the office is the possibility of a new Eagles album. In an interview with Rock Cellar magazine, Glenn Frey hinted at the idea, and as cryptic as it sounded, it leaves a glimmer of hope amongst Eagles’ fans.
In the meantime, fans may indulge themselves on the Eagles’ documentary, The History of the Eagles: The Story of an American Band that aired on Showtime on Feb. 15 and 16, and wait with baited breath for March 19.
