Taking fans on a musical journey for four decades is Neal Schon, and this week, he celebrates his 59th birthday!
Neal Joseph Schon, born Feb. 27, 1954, was considered a musical prodigy. With the talent to back up such a claim, Schon joined Santana at the age of 17 as a guitarist. Four years later, Schon and fellow Santana member, Gregg Rolie, introduced Journey to the world.
Schon has proved himself to be a capable solo-artist as well, and has also performed with the likes of Bad English, HSAS, Paul Rodgers and Piranha Blues.
Through the decades, Schon has kept Journey rolling, maintaining his spot as the only constant member of the group. This year, he and his fellow Santana bandmates announced that they would be hitting the studio for a brand new album, slated for a 2014 release.
