According to The Examiner, legendary rock heroes The Rolling Stones will embark on a 2013 North American arena tour this spring, with 18 concerts in total and one promising festival gig. Virgin Live, the band’s new promotion company that handled the their anniversary shows last year, will continue their duties in 2013.
No one from the Rolling Stones' camp has confirmed or denied the tour dates yet, but Serge Pizzorno, guitarist for British indie-rock band Kasabian, leaked the news during an interview with MTV News UK that the Stones will be headlining the Glastonbury festival in London this summer.
Pizzorno said, “I hope ours is the most talked about performance of the weekend, but that would be a miracle because The Rolling Stones are playing Glastonbury.”
Guitarist Ronnie Wood also revealed back in February that he would try to convince his band mates to headline the Glastonbury festival. The band played five arena shows last year in honor of their 50th anniversary and Wood wants to keep the momentum going in 2013.
He told The Independent UK about playing Glastonbury, “It’s something I've always been interested in. I'm going to twist their arms.”
