The Marshall Tucker Band has undoubtedly gotten to do some things in their time as a band that would make anyone jealous, such as playing sold-out concerts and getting to tour around the world. But the offer that the group received this week may make more people envious than any of those things.

The Southern Rock group was asked to be the NASCAR Grand Marshals as the Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Saturday, March 9th.

Those seasoned in the sport know that means that the band gets to utter those infamous four words that kick off all of the action: "Drivers, start your engines!"

MTB frontman Doug Gray said in a press release of the honor, “We are so excited to be associated with this Nationwide Series NASCAR race. We've always been big supporters of NASCAR so this opportunity came as a welcome surprise.”

The Sam’s Town 300 will air on ESPN2 at 4pm EST. Following the race, the Marshall Tucker Band will perform at The Orleans Hotel and Casino.
