After over six years of inactivity, the Eagles have kicked it into high gear in 2013.

The band premiered their now acclaimed documentary, History of the Eagles, last month on Showtime, which is set to be released on DVD/Blu-ray on April 30th via Capitol Records. The two-part film chronicles the band’s backstory from the 70s until their 1980 breakup, and scored the network the highest ratings for a music documentary since 2005.

The release comes as a three-disc set, which includes History of the Eagles Part One and History of the Eagles Part Two, as well as Eagles Live at the Capital Centre - March 1977 – a concert film that accounts the Eagles’ two-night stint at Washington DC’s Capital Center during their Hotel California tour.

Preorders for the film are available beginning today (March 12th).

History of the Eagles is also set to premiere at Sundance London, where band members Glenn Frey, Don Henley, Joe Walsh and Timothy Schmidt will also hold a Q&A session at the O2 Arena, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The festival kicks off on April 25th and concludes on the 28th.
