Earlier this week, it was announced that AC/DC frontman Brian Johnson will be featured on Sting’s upcoming album The Last Ship.
Though it’s unclear what song the two singers will collaborate on, according to hennemusic, the music from the album will make up the soundtrack to Sting’s upcoming Broadway project of the same.
The play, which will debut sometime next year, centers on the death of the shipbuilding industry more than 30 years ago and the effect it had on the community of Newcastle, England.
On his website, Sting wrote about the project, which he has been working on for the past three years. He was inspired to write The Last Ship by his hometown in Wallsend, where he said his "early memories are of the Swan Hunters shipyard at the end of the street."
As for Brian Johnson, his fellow AC/DC band member Cliff Williams said back in March that Angus and Malcolm Young were writing new material for a possible album.
