Yoko Ono's current version of The Plastic Ono Band performed for the first and what they claim, the last time this year in New York on Sunday night. RollingStone.com reports the show at the Bowery Ballroom mixed in selections from the newly released album Take Me to the Land of Hell with some of her past classics. The band featuring her and John's son Sean and ace session player Earl Slick turned in an hour-long set of avant-garde rock.
Still as much performance artist as rocker, and showing no indication of recently turning 80, Ono's set was preceded by a series of her short films, several of which dealt with the human anatomy.
In an interview Friday with Huffington Post, Ono said that John Lennon "would have loved" Twitter. She explained, "He would have used all of social media and convincingly, because he was a communicator."
