It's hard to believe that I have a 4th grader now. It seems like just yesterday that my wife was on the verge of tears dropping our daughter off on her first day of kindergarten. Every year since then, my wife continues the tradition of reading my daughter, ""Mama, will you hold my hand?", the morning of the first day of school. This year we had a new entry in the first day of school tradition - my son will start his first year of kindergarten next week.

With all of the first day jitters, nerves, tears, and smiles came the line of the morning while waiting for the bus I asked my daughter if she had met her for this year.

Me: "Have you seen your teacher yet?"
Daughter: "Yeah, I saw him in Target when I was shopping with Mommy."
Me: (Not shocked that my wife was at Target) "Oh, does he have a mustache or a beard like Daddy?"
Daughter: "He has a little beard."
Me: "That's cool. Does he look Daddy's age or older?"
Daughter: "Um, he looks like Mommy's age. So I guess he would be older."

I love my little girl!
