I love good TV commercials. There are some ads that are SO good, I'll actually stop and rewind to see them when I'm watching my DVR at night. Dish Network's "Hopper" family is one example. I like the Direct TV commercials too. My new favorite though is for Swiffer, featuring an old married couple.
After see "Lee and Morty" a few times, I got the sense that they were either REALLY good actors or they are a real life married couple. After a little research, here's what I learned: Lee and Morty Kaufman are a real life married couple from Valley Stream, New York. They're both 90. She's a retired schoolteacher and he still does volunteer work at Nassau Community College. Their daughter knows the casting director for the production company that made the ads and recommended them.
What I love about them is that they have been married for 44 years. They meet later in life as widows, when Morty asked Lee on a dinner date. And they've been together ever since.
Swiffer put together a longer version of their current TV ad which shows a little bite more of the real life Kaufmans. I love how Morty naps while she cleans!
