Earlier this week I shared a clip from John Fogerty's new album, "Wrote a Song for Everyone." The album has a bunch of duets from his all-star friends with two new songs. "Mystic Highway" is the first single.

Fogerty posted a lyric video online ahead of his TV blitz this week; last night with Dave Letterman (he'll be on again tonight), and 'The View' tomorrow (5/23).

Don't forget, you can catch his LIVE performance from the iHeartRadio Performance Theater tomorrow night at 8PM!

Can you spot Sting about $15 million?

Sting needs to raise $15 million to produce "The Last Ship," a musical inspired by his 1991 album "The Soul Cages." The musical will be about shipbuilding and the culture of his hometown near Newcastle, England.

While it is a musical, Sting says that he doesn't like that term. "I loathe to call it a musical because I don't like that term. It's a play set in my home town, in Newcastle. It's about a shipyard. I was born in the shadow of a shipyard, born and raised next to a shipyard. I often wondered why I was exposed to this rather surreal environment when I was growing up, and I realize now it has a massive psychological and symbolic importance to me. That's the landscape of my dreams was my little home town and the house that I was brought up in and the ghosts that were there. And it's really a story of redemption and occupying a ship yard against the wishes of the owners, which is kind of topical at the moment. We occupy just about everything."

If Sting can get the cash, "The Last Ship" starts in the spring of 2015.

Dave Grohl Rocks with The Rolling Stones

Dave Grohl is everywhere these days. We saw him over the weekend on the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, as part of the induction of RUSH. Last week, he hopped on stage to perform at the 'Rolling Stones 50 & Counting Tour' at The Honda Center on May 15, 2013 in Anaheim, California.

The former Nirvana drummer joined the Stones onstage in performing “Bitch,” the highly-energetic, dance-rock number from their 1971 Sticky Fingers LP.  In the impassioned play-style we have come to expect from him, Grohl headbanged alongside Keith Richards and even shared a mic with epic frontman Mick Jagger.

According to the Stone’s official set list, Grohl’s appearance came between mega-hits “Wild Horses” and “Shattered,” the second of which was played for the first time since the band’s 50 & Counting tour began in early May.

Can You Imagine A McCartney, Hendrix Supergroup?

We've got our PYX 106 Drome Sound Fantasy Supergroup event happening now on PYX106.com. We're taking your vote for the ultimate Classic Rock Band we could EVER put together. While I was checking out the votes this morning, I stumbled across this Classic Rock news…

Paul McCartney missed a chance to jam with Jimi Hendrix and Miles Davis because he was out of town when a telegram arrived requesting his presence at the session in New York.

"We are recording and [sic] LP together this weekend. How about coming in to play bass?" reads the letter, adding, "Call Alan Douglas . . . Peace Jimi Hendrix, Miles Davis, Tony Williams."

An aide to Macca replied, saying that his boss was out of town and not due back for a couple weeks. Both letters are in the Hard Rock Cafe memorabilia collection in Prague.

"It's not something you hear about a lot," Hard Rock historian Jeff Nolan told the Daily Mail. "Major Hendrix connoisseurs are aware of it. It would have been one of the most insane supergroups. These four cats certainly reinvented their instruments and the way they're perceived."

Paul McCartney's US Tour kicked off over the weekend with two shows in Orlando. Over the next three months he'll be stopping in Austin, Tulsa, Brooklynn, the Bonnaroo Music Festival, Boston, DC, Indy, Milwaukee, and wrapping the tour up in Seattle on July 19th.

Paul used the Beatles classic "Eight Days A Week," to kickoff his first show in Brazil earlier this month. The Beatles only performed that song once in concert. The rest of his set was filled with other Beatles album favorites like "Your Mother Show Know," and "Lovely Rita."
