Most guys don't like talking about their junk, especially if something's gone WRONG down there.
So "Men's Health" posted a list of the most common problems men have, along with the best . . . and WORST . . . potential causes. Here are the top four.
1. It Stings When You Go to the Bathroom. The worst-case scenario is urethritis (pronounced yer-ree-thry-tis). It'scaused by a bacterial infection.
Or if you've had unprotected sex in the past three weeks, it might be an STD. Either way, go to the doctor.
But if it only happens once then goes away, don't worry. It was probably caused by an irritant like soap, and isn't anything to worry about.
2. It's Slow to Rise. The best-case scenario is you had a few too many beers. But things like depression and prescription drugs can cause it too. And in men over 45, it's sometimes an early warning sign of heart disease or diabetes.
3. It Won't Go Down. If we're talking 10 or 15 minutes, you don't have to worry. But if we're talking HOURS, then obviously that's a big deal, and you should go to the emergency room.
You could have something called "low-flow priapism" . . . which is the technical term for when blood flows in but doesn't flow out. And if it goes untreated, it can cause permanent damage.
4. You Have a Rash. The best-case scenario is it's from friction after a wild night in bed, or it's just a reaction to a new detergent.
The worst-case scenario is syphilis, which sometimes shows up as a rash that's completely painless. And if the rash lasts more than two weeks, you should definitely see a doctor about it.
